Dubai Golf’s Biggest Charity PRO AM in association with Dubai Cares
Dubai Cares was recently launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to raise money to help educate one million needy children. The campaign is Dubai’s contribution to the UN Millenium Development Goal which aims to provide Children’s Primary Education to every child by 2015 and expresses the Emirate’s will to play an effective role in securing a better tomorrow for future generations.. All proceeds from the tournament went to Dubai Cares in support of this campaign.
The tournament took place at Emirates Golf Club on 18th of Oct and invited all Dubai based companies to participate in a social team event over an 18 holes on the Wadi Championship golf course at the Emirates Golf Club. All proceeds from the tournament went to Dubai Cares with over 150 players who played in the tournament and an auction which followed the prize giving. Teams of three played with a UAE based professional.
Harradine Golf attended the event with a team of 3 comprising Inaki De La Cuadra, Johnny Stenegard and Anthony Hodgson. The Harradine Golf team played a flawless game and won the event with a gross score of 60 and a NET 58.
12 birdies and just 6 pars made for a succession of vibrant cheers and smiles from the Harradine team. A series of fantastic early approaches from the team’s pro, Jamie Wood, secured a super start and positive vibe amongst the four players.
It wasn’t long before all the Harradine players were ‘firing on all cylinders’ with the shots and approaches manufactured to perfection and a shared role in sinking all those important putts.
The Harradine team were delighted with their score and were chasing a gross 59 on the last hole, but needed to hole out a 40 foot putt for eagle. To their extreme surprise it did not drop but another birdie was enough to secure and win the competition! |
