The weather was perfect for the 11th annual OIS / HG Day at the Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa. It was a bright sunny day and the course was in its usual pristine condition thanks to Nick Weller and his team.
65 golfers took part in the golf tournament and everyone was in good spirits. The tournament saw a few entertaining and excellent rounds throughout the day. Although some of us spent more time enjoying the trees and water rather than the fairways and greens, it was a thoroughly enjoyable day.
The aprés golf allowed everyone to mix a little before dinner. The food and service were as usual, excellent. The night continued with the award ceremony as Marty Brown (Orient Irrigation) took home the top prize in the 0-15 handicap division, scoring 37 points on the day while the overall runner up, Osama Latif (Dal Group) scored 35 stableford points. The handicap winners were Ben Collins (Covent Garden Landscape) in the 0-15 HCP division and Bjoern Heinrich (W-East) in the 16-28 HCP division with 34 points. The longest drive awards were won by Neil Hamp Adams (Driving Force), Marcus Harttup (Abu Dhabi Golf Course), Johnny Stenegard (Harradine Golf) & Andrew Wick (AMBB) The closest to the pin awards were won by Frank Naughton (Dutco Construction), James Hancock (Dutco Construction), Andrew Wick & Ben Collins.
The evening drew to a close after the traditional “Harradine Speech” – filled with a variety of truths and opinions on the game, the industry and life in general – delivered in the straight forward and humorous Peter Harradine’s style.
We would like to thank the Jebel Ali Golf Course & Resort for hosting another fantastic OIS / HG event. We would also like to thank everyone who attended and look forward to seeing you all back next year.
All the best,
The Harradine Golf Team |
