The second ‘Harradine Golf Challenge’ was hosted by Al Hamra Golf Club on the 1st November 2008.
A strong turn - out at the inaugural tournament ensured the same again this year, so it looks as if the event will become an annual fixture for U.A.E golfers. Harradine Golf sponsored the event, providing trophies and prizes.
The course was in excellent condition so the players were ready for a superb day of golf along the shores of the Arabian Gulf. The scoring once again reflected the designer’s concept, easy to play but difficult to score, with a level handicap taking second place and 1 under the winning score!
Anthony Hodgson of Harradine Golf won again by defending last years win with great Panache, shooting a gross score of 75 which pleased him enormously. All the prize winners struck the ball as well as they could, and were rewarded by the odd fortunate bounce but even more by the wonderfully true putting surfaces.
Andy Pilfold and his Al Hamra team organized a superb day, once again, by bringing U.A.E golfers and club members together, thus allowing the creators of the course to form part of the club’s calendar. |
