With three of the world’s top 10 golfers already confirmed to battle it out at January’s 2010 Abu Dhabi Golf Championship, sports fans worldwide already know they are going to be in for a great four days.
World number four and two-time Abu Dhabi Golf Championship winner, England’s Paul Casey – who won his second title after a grand stand finish earlier this year after setting a new course record – has long been a fan favourite and is sure to attract a massive following.
And Abu Dhabi stalwart – the fiery Spaniard and world number eight - Sergio Garcia, will again be looking to show off his remarkable talents on The National Course at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club from January 21-24th.
New to Abu Dhabi’s line-up, the world number 10 Geoff Ogilvy could be the one to watch. The 6’ 2” imposing Aussie powerhouse is familiar with his opponents, having beat Casey earlier in the year to win the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship in Arizona, USA.
Whatever the outcome of the 5th annual Abu Dhabi Golf Championship, the real winner will be the spectator. The European Tour-backed event is recognised as a tournament where fans can get up close and personal to the action. And they’ll be plenty of that.
With analysis coming from those in the know, such as former Ryder Cup and European Tour player, Gordon Brand Junior; John Hawksworth and Ross McFarlane, who are both ex-Tour players and Sky TV commentators; golfing enthusiasts will be kept informed as every stroke from the first tee off to the last drive is covered. |
